Simply Budgets and Apple Macs.
There are now many
people purchasing Apple Mac computers where in the past the majority
of computers were of the IBM format.
Simply Budgets was
originally developed for IBM computers only, however with the new
operating systems installed on Mac computers it is now possible to
install and run Simply Budgets using some inexpensive 'emulation'
software.
There are a number of
'emulation' applications available. 'Virtual PC' and 'Parallels' will allow you to run
Simply Budgets on a Mac.
The following relates
to the use of 'Parallels' and was sent to me by a customer who is
using Simply Budgets on his Mac:-
David, I am using
Simply Budgets on my Mac using Parallels for Desktop
I am running Build 3186 and following are the system
requirements:
A Macintosh computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core Duo or Core
Solo
Mac OS X 10.4.6 or higher
768 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended) - (I have 2 gig)
40.5 MB of free hard disk space for Parallels Desktop and 15 GB
(recommended) space for each virtual machine
A full (not OEM) version of the operating system you wish to
install (XP not
Vista)
I am running it successfully......at least as successfully as
you can run XP! :-)
This information
should enable you to make an informed decision as to whether you
can run Simply Budgets on your Macintosh computer or not.
