Success Story #10

It's a Girl!

Those of you who have been reading my e-mails for some time may remember an article my daughter Casey wrote about a book called Every Day A Little Miracle that we sell through the Simply Budgets web-site.

If you read that article, you would have read how my daughter battled with depression. You may have read between the lines from my comments at the start of the article and perhaps worked out that this depression was actually caused through her being involved in a relationship that was destroying her very soul.

I did not know at the time just how close we came to losing her. I have since found out that on a number of occasions she had gone to throw herself off a cliff into a frozen river (in Canada) but her belief in a God who loves her stopped her each time!

We knew things were not right, but we had no idea just how bad they had become. As it turned out we rescued her in the nick of time and the battle she had with depression was all part of her reaction to the whole traumatic ordeal.

So here is the success story. It was clear in the article that Casey wrote, that she was on the recovery trail. Well, early this year she was re-married to a great guy named David (must be a great bloke with a name like that).

Last Sunday she gave birth to our first grandchild! A little girl weighing 8lb 6oz at birth named Rhiannon who is nothing short of a miracle. My wife and I are now officially Nanny and Poppy and are absolutely delighted.

We nearly had no daughter at all but now we have her and a grandaughter. That is a special success story!

Here's the thing:- Some of you might be going through a rough patch in life. Finances might be causing great stress. Maybe relationships are stretched as a result. Just keep it all in perspective. The best things in life are absolutely free and what is causing you grief today will be a distant memory in the future if you get the right help, make the necessary changes and plans and then work to those plans.

Don't give up.

Well that's it for today. Exciting news!
